Through a series of additions and alterations, the original structure of a late-1990s terrace house is preserved and reimagined as a bright, open home for a young couple. Typical of its typology, the existing layout was inward-looking and poorly ventilated. To address this, sections of the floor slabs were strategically opened, and a generous skylight introduced at roof level. Natural light now penetrates deep into the home, cascading down to the first storey where shifting patterns of light and shadow animate the dining space throughout the day. Walls on the ground floor were removed to create a seamless connection between the living, dining, and kitchen areas—visually stretching the space from front to back. A warm palette of timber, soft neutrals, and curated details brings a sense of calm and clarity to the home.
